Opcode's Studio 3 is a standard computer MIDI interface with assignable MIDI outputs, a built-in SMPTE timecode generator and a SMPTE-to-MIDI timecode

converter.

MIDI features of the Studio 3 include:

• Two MIDI inputs
• Six MIDI outputs
  MIDI activity indicators
  MIDI/Serial Port thru switches
• 
  Two assignable footswitch inputs and a foot controller input

Timecode functions of the Studio 3 include:

• SMPTE Time Code generation (four frame rates)
• SMPTE-to-MIDI Time Code conversion
• SMPTE-to-Direct Time Lock conversion
• Jam Syncing (rewrites fresh SMPTE when locked)
• Flywheeling (remains locked despite dropouts or other short SMPTE errors)
• Audio input to create a MIDI trigger

The Studio 3 allows you to synchronize sequenced MIDI data to tape. This means you can synchronize virtual MIDI tracks to recorded acoustic tracks or to video.

Once you've recorded SMPTE timecode onto either audio or video tape, you can accurately lock MIDI playback to that tape using the Studio 3.
